ERASMUS+ Exchange Continues Between the University of Belgrade and STOUH

From May 22 to June 3, 2022, as part of the ERASMUS+ program between the University of Belgrade and STOUH, our University was visited by Ms. Maja Ačimovič, Librarian of the Faculty of Theology at the University of Belgrade. The purpose of her visit was to strengthen the ties between STOUH and the University of Belgrade, and in particular between the two universities’ libraries. Ms. Ačimovič visited the library and reading rooms at STOUH’s main building and shared her experience with STOUH Head Librarian Rev. Aleksei Andreev.

During her time in Moscow, students of Serbian in the Department of Slavic Philology of the Faculty of History and Theology got the chance to escort Ms. Ačimovič around Moscow, to show her the sights of the city, and to practice their Serbian.

One of our students writes:

Undoubtedly, communicating with Maja was a good way for me to practice the language. For three days, we talked only in Serbian. I felt as if I had overcome the language barrier and was no longer afraid to say something wrong. I knew I might make mistakes, so I immediately asked Maja to correct me. This helped me a lot because I learned what areas of grammar and syntax I needed to tighten up. It was a wonderful experience that I’m sure I’ll remember for a long time!

Vlada Komkina, 4th-year student, Faculty of History and Philology

Before her departure, Ms. Ačimovič told us about her impressions of STOUH and Russia:

This was my first visit to Russia and to Moscow. I want to say that I am very grateful to your university for having me here. I especially want to thank Professor Elena Osipova and her wonderful students whom I had the opportunity to meet. I hope that my stay here will be the beginning of a relationship between our universities and our countries.
