Fr om February to June 2022, Marinko Simič attended classes at STOUH’s and successfully passed his final exams. Marinko is a student of Russian at Belgrade University, wh ere the language is taught by a graduate of St. Tikhon’s University.
During the spring semester, Marinko lived at the STOUH dormitory, participated in student life and classes, and got to know students of Serbian. Tatiana Orgiian shared her impressions with us: “We translated from Serbian to Russian and vice versa, practicing a little grammar, listening to songs, doing various interactive tasks. It was interesting and informative. We compared cultures, and I helped Marinko understand the meaning of some phrases.”
During his stay in Moscow, Marinko got to compete in the 7th STOUH Easter Choir Festival. He said: “Our choir won first place in the competition singing a Serbian song. I had never been in a choir in Serbia, so it was a new experience for me… We don’t usually have a choir in church services: usually one person sings the melody and the rest of us sing the ison.”
We wish Marinko continued success and hop
e to welcome him to our university again!
